Bend Holistic Health Care Trang Lam Quan, Family Nurse Practitioner

Trang Lam-Quan

Family Nurse Practitioner

Trang is a licensed family nurse practitioner who has been treating patients with complex chronic illness since 2008 by utilizing a combination of holistic and allopathic approaches.  With chronic illness, standard treatment protocols may fail because the underlying causes are not appropriately identified. Trang enjoys unraveling a patient’s medical history to uncover root problems and develop a treatment plan that provides both supportive and target therapies. She treats complex chronic illness that may include multiple conditions: Fibromyalgia, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Interstitial Cystitis, Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS/PANDAS), Mold Toxin Illness, Tick-borne diseases, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Leaky Gut and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Trang also treats early active Covid-19 to prevent hospitalization, as well as supports Long Covid patients who experience lingering symptoms months after their initial infection. Recovery from Covid-19 can be a long and complex journey. Trang’s experience with complex chronic illness patients has given her the tools to evaluate and treat this growing population of Covid-19 survivors.

Trang is well practiced in developing care plans that prioritize supportive therapies to establish a strong foundation for addressing multiple health concerns. Appreciating the unique needs of each patient, she discusses individual preference for treatment as it takes a collaborative effort to achieve wellness.

Trang was born in Vietnam and fled to the U.S. with her family at the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. Her family was part of the first wave of refugees to arrive at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in San Diego, California. They resided in Camp Pendleton’s makeshift refugee camp for 4 months until they were sponsored by a church in San Gabriel, California.

Serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal inspired Trang to become a nurse.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science in Food Science & Nutrition from Chapman University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed to practice in Oregon and California.
